Rockford Brewing: Solid Beer with a Great Atmosphere

Although not officially open until December 20, I was able to attend a soft opening party this past weekend at Rockford Brewing Company.

The Atmosphere:

Very clean, set in downtown Rockford. Lots of wood and sort of rustic looking. Great views.

The Food:

From the deli next door. The smoked whitefish dip was excellent. My husband had a Reuben – said it’s even better than Founder’s. I had a club sandwich and I still think Founder’s is better. Either way it’s a step up from most pub grub.

The Beer:

Very solid, according to my husband the home brewer. Our top picks:

White Pine Wheat (more of a Hefeweizen, but we both like the Hef.)

Hoplust IPA (nice and grapefruit-y, just the way I like it!)

The Verdict:

A welcome addition to West Michigan’s craft beer scene.

Whaddaya think?
